CHAN2022: 4 Algerians in the Team of the Tournament

Four Algerian players were named in the Team of the Tournament of the just recently ended 2022 African Nations Championship.

Algerian team captain Ayoub Abdellaoui was selected alongside his defensive partner Chouaib Keddad. Also on the team were Houssem Mrezigue, who was selected as the Best Player of the Tournament, as well as striker Aimen Mahious, who finished as the top scorer of the competition with 5 goals in 6 games.

The Desert Foxes finished as runners-up during the tournament, losing a heart-breaking penalty shootout to Senegal in the final.
